About art71.com

Mike Slater, art71Hello. I'm Mike Slater. I launched this business in 1995 and developed art71.com in the late 1990's to run business websites. I have been programming computers since 1981 when my father bought a Dragon 32 home computer with 32kB hard storage - that's not quite enough hard disk storage these days to display this web page. Now I specialise in offering art71.com clients the best possible websites for their business or creative project.

In the 1990's I worked for an image agency and ran a community art gallery. In 1999, I brought together my background in the visual arts with computer programming to build effective websites. Since 2000, the business has run its own web server for art71.com clients only, 24 hours per day, every day, every hour, for a decade with our dedicated team of web server professionals.

Much of the software used to run art71 websites is written in-house to ensure that you have access to web applications such as shopping carts, online ordering systems, customer-to-client contact forms made bespoke to your website.

The directors of the business are now based in Europe and the US and provide a resiliant platform for over 250 websites.

Partners working in the background include our 24 hour technical team who run the servers and freelance designers, language translators and trusted partners in credit card processing and security software.
